Artists’ statement

I have been a practicing artist for over 20 years mostly working with photography.  My continuing interests and investigations have primarily had two common strands: Anthropologically I am interested in where, as human beings, our life experiences unite, with an intrinsic acceptance of our differences. I tend to focus on aspects of life that are generally taken for granted; recently this interest has begun to concentrate on what can happen in a very short space of time. Photography has a unique ability to freeze life and reveal what is hidden in plain sight, from the amazing array of ambidexterity that the human body is capable of to hinting and suggesting many other factors.

My recent work fits well with my enduring interest in the use of multiple images to convey suggestion in a way that a single image cannot; this combines with a dedicated attention to the presentation and dissemination of my work.
